Blackburn in Question: Community or Parallel Lives?

This event was part of The Light Foundation’s UK‑wide tour of open dialogue sessions, aimed at bringing local voices together to explore key social and community issues and foster greater mutual understanding.

The evening’s panel featured prominent local figures, who shared their key and unique insights:

  • Adnan Hussain MP (Independent)
  • County Councillor Tom Pickup (Reform UK)
  • Cllr. Elaine Whittingham (Independent)

This Blackburn discussion was built on the hugely successful events in other towns, continuing efforts to break down barriers and strengthen community cohesion through open public conversation.

A spokesperson from the Light Foundation said:

“The Light Foundation is committed to creating respectful spaces for dialogue, where people from different backgrounds can engage in constructive conversation about the issues that matter most to their communities.”

We thank everyone who supported the event and all those who attended in great numbers. This is just the beginning of the conversation and we look forward to continuing it together.
