We facilitate constructive dialogue and open and honest conversations between people and communities who would otherwise not meet.
We do this by providing expert scholarly advice, awareness, and education to those from all backgrounds and professions, curious and wanting to know and know more about Islam and Muslims.
In identifying common values, ethics, and principles amongst faith communities and none, we bring local and national leaders in faith, education, and government together to combat all forms of discrimination and hatred.
At Light Foundation, we believe in providing a safe environment that encourages meaningful conversations, lasting collaborations, and peaceful religious coexistence.
"I thought that it was an incredible event which really brought a community that has been challenged recently come together in a real show of togetherness and unity. I believe that the mosque hosting such an event will have gone a long way to building some valuable relationships with people across all faiths and the attendance and engagement was excellent. I felt privileged to be involved and am grateful for the opportunity to attend. I wish you and all at the Light Foundation as well as Southport Mosque my very best wishes and hope to see you again at future events."
Assistant Chief Constable Andy Ryan, Merseyside Police

"The Light Foundation does excellent multi-faith work in promoting community cohesion in Preston. I particularly enjoy attending their annual interfaith dinner which they hold during the Islamic month of Ramadhan. It is work like this that keeps the hatred, division and far-right elements out of our city. I hope that the Light Foundation continues to work hard to bring the various community groups together to foster tolerance and unity."
Sir Mark Hendrick, MP (Member of Parliament) for Preston

"The Light Foundation does invaluable work to promote solidarity and understanding across all faiths and cultures in an attempt to bring communities together. They promote healthy and open debate across all faiths in an attempt to ensure there is greater understanding around what people believe and why they believe it. When people listen and understand other people's perspectives barriers begin to break down."
Councillor Matthew Brown, Leader of the Preston City Council

"The Light Foundation's work to tackle hard questions head on is vital. Too much of our interaction with those of other faiths is based on fear and misunderstanding - and too much interfaith work relies on ignoring the most challenging issues. The Light Foundation shows that we can have tough conversations without undermining our friendships; in fact, they can strengthen our friendships. This is essential for better social cohesion."
His Eminence, Peter Welby, Consultant on Religion & Global Affairs
"In my experience the Light Foundation are capable of bringing people of many faiths and none together in dialogue and even friendship. Light Foundation have been brave, courageous and honest in the issues they seek to address. Light Foundation has made a significant contribution to the charitable work of the community of Preston. I have personally valued my time and friendship with founders Arfan and Nadeem."
Reverend Mark Slaney, Chair of the Methodist Church in Scotland

"I really enjoyed the interfaith dinner for Ramadan. It was a pleasure to be so warmly welcomed, to learn more about the origins of Ramadan and the Islamic faith. What struck me most was the strong sense of community that prevails around the mosque and the concept of shared support particularly for the young people who are so important to our future."
Angie Ridgwell, Chief Executive Officer, Lancashire County Council

"The Light Foundation have been doing a tremendous job in the local community, bringing together and celebrating our multi-faiths and cultural differences, in solidarity to raise awareness and to educate. I've had the honour and personal pleasure to attend a number of the Light Foundation events and every time I've experienced warmth, love, and community cohesion."

"The Light Foundation is doing fantastic work in strengthening good community relations, bridging divides and promoting empathy and understanding across different faith and belief groups. They have demonstrated courage, leadership and foresight by engaging with members of the extreme Far-Right groups. There has never been a more urgent need for this, and the Light Foundation is one of the leading organisations that is continuing to undertake such important work."
Imam Qari Asim MBE, Chair, Mosques & Imams National Advisory Board & Government Advisor on Islamophobia

"I have found the work of the Light Foundation to be inspiring and radical. Radical in its determination to graciously build bridges, no matter how big the gulf that separates, and to find the common humanity that joins us all. Personally, I always have felt privileged to attend their events and have gained increased understanding of my fellow human beings through them. Thank you for all the work you put into this invaluable enterprise and may God continue to bless you abundantly in it."
